SOLD: CARVED WALNUT ROCKING HORSE
WANTED A GOOD HOME FOR A BRAND NEW ROCKING HORSE
CARVED FROM FINE ENGLISH WALNUT WOOD NOW SOLD
Trooper was completed in the Spring of 2012. He is the second horse that I have carved because
I so enjoyed making the first one for my Grandchildren when I retired three years earlier.
The wood he is made from is English Walnut which came from a large estate in the NorthEast of England where a local carpenter felled, prepared and seasoned the timber in the traditional manor some years ago. English Walnut gives him some beautifully varied colours and distinguished markings much enhanced by hours of careful grooming by his creator. The final finish is simply a neutral wax polish.
Troopers tail and mane are real horse hair and the tack is leather with brass fittings.
The stand is Ash and has some beautiful markings.
He stands 122cms (48ins) high from the floor to the tips of his ears with the saddle at approx. 91cms (36ins) from the floor. His stand is 152cms (60ins) long by 56cms (22ins) wide so he will need a good size stable to accommodate him.
The asking price for this magnificent beast is £1,999.00ono. In return for this very reasonable sum the new owner can expect complete loyalty, absolutely no costs for fodder, no mucking out, hours of riding fun for children, grandchildren and even adults if they are so inclined, and a family heirloom that may one day become a sought after antique.
Trooper is currently stabled near to Rugby, practically in the centre of England.
