SOLD: EARLY VICTORIAN BOW "LONDON"
`London' Early Victorian Bow Rocking Horse
London is a very interesting early Victorian bow rocking horse. He has proven provenance with the Allcard family, a very wealthy family originating from London and later from Horsham where they owned a substantial family mansion. A precis of the history of the family comes with this horse. He has a very stretched out appearance reminiscent of the `racehorse' type of rocking horse so he appears low to the ground although he has a body length of 25" which is the size of a medium sized horse. Unusually he has extra carving to the neck and front legs, a tongue and individual teeth which you find on only the finest horses. Height 40", length of bow 77", width of bow 17 1/2 "
