Trooper Extra Carved FH Ayres Rocking Horse

Trooper is an extra carved FH Ayres rocking horse. 'Extra Carving' means that the horse  has been given muscle definition on his neck and hocks and has more refined carving on his face. The rails of the stand are also given a 'fluted' appearance comparted to a plain carved horse. He would have beenmore expensive to buy when new.

Trooper has had as much of his original gesso and paint retained as possible, so he retains some scars of his former life. He has been given a enw natural grey horse hair and despoke tack, real silk rosettes and saddle with a soft goatskin seat stuffed with natural cotton. The stand is original and has some work damage to the lower rail, please see photos which form part of this description. This has been treated as a precaution. There are also nail holes in one of the pillars from a metal hand which had been put round the pillar, we don't know why as the pillar is not split so this band has been taken off but there are nail holes remaining from the band.

One of the rails is a little bent but this does not affect the horse which rocks straight and true.

Height is 41.5 inches, Length is 52inches and width is 19ins.
